چکیده
The concept of co-benefits developed in the context climate change policies can be extended to strategies aimed at protecting natural resources. A co-effects-based policy approach proposes a multidimensionality capable strengthening its effectiveness and supporting co-generative development model promoting virtuous forms territorial capital valorisation. study evaluate landscape generated by Natura 2000 networks, achieving measure efficiency performance Management Plan, with reference “Timpa di Acireale” site. Assessment of desertification hazard, risk and development of management plans
About 80 percent of Iran is arid and semi-arid and about 35 percent of this area is susceptible to desertification hazard. Therefore desertification assessment and identification of the most important criteria for the assessment of risk and a basis for development of management plans is essential. This research was conducted in the semi-arid region of Agh-Band in the Golestan province, Iran wit...
متن کاملConnectivity of Natura 2000 Forest Sites
The newly adopted Green Infrastructure Strategy is a key step in implementing targets of the European Biodiversity Strategy to 2020 (EBS). This study responds to policy needs for target 2 on ecosystems conditions and services, target 1 on implementing and enhancing coherence of the Natura 2000 network and sub-target 3b on integrating environmental concerns in forest management. Protected areas ...
متن کاملConnectivity of Natura 2000 forest sites in Europe
Background/Purpose: In the context of the European Biodiversity policy, the Green Infrastructure Strategy is one supporting tool to mitigate fragmentation, inter-alia to increase the spatial and functional connectivity between protected and unprotected areas. The Joint Research Centre has developed an integrated model to provide a macro-scale set of indices to evaluate the connectivity of the N...
متن کاملUsing semantic-based spatial reclassification for interoperable data management in Natura 2000 monitoring
In various fields of spatial research, semantic heterogeneity remains an unsolved problem in terms of data comparability. Interoperability of biodiversity monitoring information is especially difficult because of its thematic complexity and the high variability of acquisition methods and national differences in nomenclatures. Each EU member state must compile comprehensive information on protec...
متن کاملHabitat Mapping and Quality Assessment of NATURA 2000 Heathland Using Airborne Imaging Spectroscopy
Appropriate management of (semi-)natural areas requires detailed knowledge of the ecosystems present and their status. Remote sensing can provide a systematic, synoptic view at regular time intervals, and is therefore often suggested as a powerful tool to assist with the mapping and monitoring of protected habitats and vegetation. In this study, we present a multi-step mapping framework that en...
